LSL Senior 1B

Mid Sutton Sportslink – 1

Kilbarrack Utd – 2

Kilbarrack Utd extended their lead at the top of the LSL Senior 1B table to 10 points on Friday night with their sixth league win on the bounce, and in the process ended their host’s six game unbeaten streak with a hard fought 2-1 victory.

Kilbarrack opened the scoring in the 25th minute after a ball over the top was raced onto by Sean Doyle and the young winger placed his lob to perfection over the advancing Anto Dowdall.

The hosts though hit back just seven minutes later when Captain Luke Morrissey picked up the ball 30 yards out and hit an absolute thunderbastard of a strike into the top corner giving Conor Ennis no chance.

The sides went into the break level but it was Kilbarrack who emerged stronger in the early stages of the second half with Jason Beasley firing home the second from close range to restore the lead.

Kilbarrack created further chances but unfortunately couldn’t convert and in the final 20 minutes were forced to endure a Mid Sutton Sportslink storm.

Conor Ennis produced a top drawer save against his former side to keep the scores level and Kilbarrack had the crossbar to thank with the final kick of the game to ensure the visitors left with the three points and a ten point lead at the top of the table.
